Hide excerpts in WordPress if they are empty

This might sound like an obvious feature but WordPress will actually create its own excerpt of the content if none is provided by the author in the event the theme is pulling the_excerpt();

You can change this by replacing those excerpt calls with:

<?php if ($post->post_excerpt != "" ) {
echo "<p><b>".$post->post_excerpt."</b></p>";

Now if the author creates an excerpt it will show it, and if they don’t create one wordpress won’t try to make one up.
