This site is but one example of what my work produces when there are no boundries, no timelines, no limitations. It’s a place for me to showcase my work, share my passions, and tell my experiences, and do what I can to contribute something back to the web design community.
I began my career as a self taught web designer and front end developer. After college I spent a decade in the private sector as a web designer and developer working for a large corporation in addition to doing contract work. I gained a valuable perspective working with both large development groups as well as small team and solo contracts.
Now, I am a web developer and coordinator for the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin Madison. My role at the University centers around designing, developing, and promoting modern web experiences. Day to day I manage over 140 wordpress sites across the campus and a team of 5 developers. In the off hours I am developing a nodejs based media services app and doing some freelance work using other tools like (gruntjs, gulp, jekyll, expression engine cms, and more).
I believe that there is always something new to learn and many ways to attain that knowledge if you know where to look and who to ask. Hopefully this site can help a few people as I continue to learn from others as well.
